4 Week Course Information

Hi singers x

I'm Lauren Lucille - vocal coach of 15 years, and jazz/latin/soul/RnB/folk singer and songwriter for over 20 years.

I'm passionate about teaching singing and music, and love busting the myths of how 'hard' learning to sing should be. I've been a private vocal coach for 15 years and have two qualifications, and have kept up my training over the years. 
I was just a jazz singer and pop/folk singer songwriter til one day in 2009, someone asked me to teach them how to sing "like YOU Lauren!"... I told them I could show them a few things and very quickly realised that teaching singing came very naturally to me. I did a year training in Vocal Pedagogy at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music to make sure I really knew what I was doing, and it just flowed from there! I've been a self-employed singer and teacher ever since, and absolutely love it.  I have done more training since then, my most recent being 2 months of Voice Function 101 (with Maddie Tarbox) this year (2024).
When I teach singing, I teach the foundations of breathing and technique to make sure my students can sing safely. I know some people are scared to do singing lessons as they don't want to 'sound like everyone else'. And that is exactly what I don't want either!  I try my best not to mess with their unique voice, and I'm always questioning what is true artistry and expression, and how do we bring that out in the student (and myself!)
I'm a very open and personable person, always looking to grow and get better not just as a singer, but as a person too. 

The reason I've started teaching more courses this year, is to make singing and music more accessible to more people! I hope to see you on a course sometime soon!

I'm Australian, but have lived in London for 10 years now! 

I successfully crowdfunded $10,000 in Australia in 2012 (Hidden Here) , and £10,000 in London in 2019 (Let Go) for two original albums that I made with brilliant musicians and producers. I also recorded a Christmas album of covers and originals a few years ago in my home studio (the one you will be learning in if you choose to work with me!) I have written or appeared on hip hop tracks, movie scores, sung on other singer songwriters material, written over 200 songs in all genres (and even a few in Portuguese), sold out jazz clubs in London and Australia and more - I can't keep track! Oh and I just recorded a jazz standards album with a great guitarist - it should be coming out this year!

I have lived in Milan twice, London twice, Ireland once, and a few cities in Australia. I've been to more than 20 countries (will have to count those later) and really love living in Europe, but definitely miss my home, so make sure I go back and visit every year.
